Christmas Eve with Honey and Hubie

Christmas Eve has a feeling all its own.

The rush of the season finally slows. The lights grow a little softer, the last gifts are tucked away under the Christmas tree, and the world seems to take a breath before morning arrives.

It’s in these gentle hours, when excitement and calm meet, that The Excellent Adventures of Honey and Hubie feels right at home.

This is the night for quiet magic.

The kind that doesn’t need bells or fireworks, just a story, a shared moment, and hearts open to wonder.

A Story for the Stillness of Christmas Eve

After the lists are checked and the house grows quiet, Honey and Hubie invite readers into a world where courage is tender, friendship is steady, and imagination is allowed to wander freely.

Honey’s bravery isn’t loud.

Hubie’s confidence isn’t showy.

Together, they remind us that the truest magic often arrives softly, just when we’re ready to listen.

For children, their adventure sparks anticipation and warmth.

For adults, it offers a rare pause — a reminder of what Christmas felt like when wonder came easily.

A Moment to Share Before Morning Comes

Christmas Eve isn’t about rushing anymore. It’s about sitting close. About voices lowered, pages turning, and knowing that this quiet moment will be remembered long after the toys are opened.

Honey and Hubie’s story becomes part of that memory.

A tale read under twinkling lights.

A world visited together before sleep arrives.

A gentle closing chapter to the year’s most magical night.

More than a Story, a Feeling

What makes The Excellent Adventures of Honey and Hubie special on Christmas Eve isn’t just the adventure. It’s the way the story feels.

It feels safe.

It feels warm.

It feels like kindness matters.

And on a night when love and hope sit quietly in the air, that feeling is a gift all its own.

A Christmas Eve Wish

From Honey, from Hubie, and from every woodland friend waiting between the pages:

May your Christmas Eve be calm.

May your home be filled with warmth and soft laughter.

May imagination find its way into your night, and courage gently follow.

And when morning comes, may the magic stay just a little longer.

The Excellent Adventures of Honey and Hubie

Honey is a miniature greyhound with more heart than height.

Hubie is a frog with loyalty bigger than his leap.

Together? They’re trouble, wonder, and magic rolled into one unlikely duo.

Their world begins in a quiet garden…until curiosity nudges them past the garden fence and into a realm where fairies whisper, creatures squabble, and courage is measured in kindness, not size. Every step pulls them deeper into a place where the rules bend, friendships matter, and even the smallest adventurer can shake the leaves on the tallest tree.

But behind all the sparkle and silliness lies a gentle truth:

Friendship isn’t something you find once. It’s something you choose again and again – especially when the path gets bumpy.

T. J. Mueller doesn’t just tell a story; she opens a door. Kids don’t read this adventure —they step into it, laugh through it, hold their breath in the tricky bits, and come out feeling a little braver, a little kinder, and a whole lot more magical.

A perfect read for kids who love adventure, animals, and worlds where imagination is the strongest superpower of all.

Dear Parents, Teachers, and Friends,

As I wrote this book, I hoped it would be more than just a moment of entertainment, I wanted it to be a story that children could return to –one that gently encourages courage, kindness, and empathy. The characters learn to support one another, face fears, and discover what friendship truly asks of us. These are lessons that grow alongside young readers.

Whether shared in a classroom, a library, or at bedtime, this story offers children a safe and magical place to explore big feelings through small adventures. Thank you for choosing stories that help young readers grow strong and tender at the same time.

With appreciation,

Dear Friends,

Every writer has a place where their stories begin. For me, it was a quiet patch of woods behind my childhood home — sunlight through the branches, the soft rustle of leaves, and endless room for imagination. I wrote this story to return to that place, to honor the wonder I felt there, and to share it with young readers who are discovering their own worlds of make-believe.

This book allowed me to revisit the magical creatures and brave little characters that lived in my mind long ago. Writing it felt like opening a door to a forgotten corner of my heart. My hope is that, in reading it, children feel inspired to explore their own imaginations with joy and curiosity.

Thank you for letting me share a piece of my childhood with you.

With warmest wishes,

T. J. Mueller

Dear Friends,

Some of my happiest childhood memories came from wandering through the quiet woods behind my home — places where imagination felt as real as the trees themselves. When I began writing this book, I returned to that world with the same sense of wonder I felt as a child. Every page reflects a piece of that enchanted place, filled with curiosity, friendship, and the simple joy of letting imagination run free.

It warms my heart to share this story with you. My hope is that, whether you are reading it with a child or rediscovering your own sense of wonder, these pages bring a little magic into your day. Thank you for stepping into this adventure with me.

Honey and Hubie’s Gingerbread Forest Adventure!

Honey and Hubie can’t believe their eyes! They’re in the Gingerbread Forest and it is magical.

Honey: “This is magical Hubie!”

Hubie: “It sure is Honey. The colors, the sparkles, the cookies, the candies and the icing are fantastic but I can’t eat any of them. Look at the Moppets, they are having a feast!

Honey: “Who cares about eating any of the cookies and candies, Hubie. This place is magical and I love it!”

Hubie: “You’re right Honey. This is a brand new adventure and I’m loving it!”

Honey: “Me too, Hubie, my friend.”

Hubie: “I’m glad you’re my friend Honey. You’re my very best friend.”

Honey: “You are my best friend too, Hubie. Let’s enjoy the Gingerbread Forest and see who else will join us.”

Hubie: “C’mon Honey. Looks like Twister is eyeing the candy cane and it’s just like him. He always wants what he can’t have!”

Honey: “Looks like Twister needs help. Let’s go help him.”

Off they go through the forest surrounded by magic at every turn.
