It’s Saturday!

I’ve been up early, not because I wanted to but because the “little brat” decided that every day is a wake up early day! Today, I wanted to sleep a little later but Chachi, the cat, wasn’t having it. He was in his element and READY TO GO!

It’s 9 in the morning and I’ve been up for several hours now and feeling like my day is halfway done! The rain hasn’t let up and more of the same is in the forecast for later in the day. Just when I think I’ve had enough of rain for quite a while, in comes another forecast. It seems the “Polar Luft” is moving in. Literally translated, it means “Polar air,” or rather it is going to get cold as hell! Lord, have mercy. The golden days of fall are nowhere to be seen and we’re heading straight into winter. Anyway, snow is in the forecast for Wednesday next week and I am ready. I have turned off the water to the garden so that the pipes don’t freeze and I have plenty of salt in case the sidewalk freezes over and needs thawing out. Nothing much to look forward to.

Chachi is in his window seat and watching the rain come down. His complaint, “Mom, the TV hasn’t been working right for days! You need to fix it!” Right, the Little Munchkin has plenty to say and he’s bored out of his mind. I’m pretending to listen but not really. I’ve got other things going on in my head. I need to clear my mind so I’m opting for an hour long meditation today. It should do me a world of good if I get through it but since my mind is jumping up and down like a “monkey” I don’t see that happening. Half an hour maybe.

Lots of workouts are planned for today and I might take a break from cooking. I’ve been eyeing the takeout menu and Chicken Nilgari from the local delivery place sounds good. I PLAN to have a good day and let’s see if it works out that way.

Have an amazing day.

The Best Laid Plans…..

“Sundays – sleep until you’re hungry, then eat until you’re sleepy.” Unknown

I had something like that in mind when I went to bed last night. I had finished my meditation ritual and all was calm in my part of the world. Chachi, the cat, was taking it all in stride because by now he knew the human well and when she donned one of her, two sizes too big t-shirts, it meant lights out and quiet time was around the corner. It was time to toe the line.

Chachi behaved and I had a goodnight’s sleep. I had visions of spending most of Sunday in bed having breakfast delivered in bed by my non-existent robotic chef! All the plans were laid-out in my head and I was looking forward to a peaceful Sunday.

You guessed it! Chachi, aka, Little Einstein and the Little Brat had other plans. Sundays are just like any other day so at 5:30 in the morning, he started his usual, “wake the human up” routine. This involves tapping on the head. If that doesn’t work, he had other tried and true methods in his arsenal. One that works without fail is his loud sighing right next to one ear! If that doesn’t work, one method that will have the human jumping out of bed is to fly over her head and land on the other side with a loud thud! He opted for the last method this morning and I woke up with a start but who cares! All that mattered to him was that his mission got accomplished!

So all my best laid out plans of having a peaceful and no stress Sunday went to hell in a hand basket!

“Coffee, pajamas and no plans – that’s how I Sunday.” Unknown

Not today folks. Chachi has other plans!

Have an amazing Sunday.

The Smackdown!

The “peacemaker” and Commander- in-Chief had this to say on Tuesday about resettling refugees outside of Gaza.

“I hope we can do something where they wouldn’t want to go back. If we can get a beautiful area to resettle people, permanently, in nice homes where they can be happy and not be shot and not be killed and not be knifed to death like what’s happening in Gaza.”

Hmm….he forgot about the bombing that destroyed the infrastructure.

On Thursday, he had this to say:

“The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe and free.”

Day dreaming is nice sometimes but the 47th president needs to understand that he is not the regular Joe on the street and what he says will and might have repercussions. It did. What’s that about Chuck Schumer?!!

The man who is used to jumping the gun and putting half-baked ideas out there did not reckon on the “fury” he would create in the Arab world through his thoughtless and “crazy” remarks.

Egypt and Jordan are strongly against any forced relocation of Gazans. They won’t be taking in any Palestinian refugees and Saudi Arabia is standing firm saying, “that Palestinian statehood is nonnegotiable.”

According to another source Trump’s suggestion, “has the potential to unleash revolutions and provoke state collapse in the Middle East.” Furthermore, this plan will not bring peace to the area. It will unleash a vicious cycle of violence for Israelis and Palestinians.

The smackdown is clear. The plan has nowhere to go but back where it came from. Talking without thinking, ideas that sound good at first glance but not well thought out AND “making the deal” is what this administration is all about but they are quickly learning that what the “new Messiah” has to say doesn’t always fly!
