My All Time Favorite Automobile?

I’ve always wondered about this. I think men and women think differently about cars. Women, at least I do, think that’s it not that important to have fast expensive cars. If it is dependable and works fine, I am happy. However, men or at least the ones I have known love fast expensive cars. It might just be a “men thing.”

Or it might be a show-off thing. Maybe it adds to their manliness but either way, I find it puzzling.

How are you creative?

I paint pictures with words rather than with a paintbrush. My imagination knows no bounds and even though it is a problem at times, it helps with my writing. I am able to take a thought, expand it and come up with a story and it helps to calm the “beast” which is my mind. I used to call it the “monkey” because it jumps and chatters all the time but I am learning to control my thoughts and that is a good thing.

I create with my mind and have done well so far. Let’s see what the new year brings. Hoping for much better and on a bigger scale!

The Biggest Influences…

Who are the biggest influences in my life?

There were many so I can’t mention them all here. One person I would like to give credit to would be my mother. She taught me the biggest lesson which has stood the test of time. I remember as a little girl I would come running to her about something that made me cry or sad and she would say, “Remember whatever you do and whatever happens, always stand back up. Take your time, but dust off and get back on that horse.” I have been doing that all my life and it has helped me through the years.

Others who influenced me are the writers. One person in particular was Nora Roberts. I loved and love her writing. The romance novelist was one of my all- time favorite person. There were many nights where I lay cuddled in bed with one of her books helping me to escape whatever it is that I wanted to escape and to keep my head somewhere in the clouds. I think in a way she helped me fashion my writing. Thank you both.

The Year of my Birth

Is that like a nice way of asking how old I am?

All I can share with you is that I don’t remember much about it. I know that my parents had been trying for a very long time and were about to give up when I came along. Needless to say, I turned their world upside down in more ways than one!

I was the proverbial tomboy. Mom wanted a “lady” in the making but she got the total opposite! I loved playing around in mud and singing with the ducks! Anything the boys could do, I can do better and that was my motto. I kept true to that until I turned 16 and I blossomed and became the Belle of the Ball so to speak. They (the boys) never looked at me the same way again!

I think I was a blessing but I put my parents through a hard time. Those days are done with but a little rebellion still remains!

Character

I think I am. The problem is not being able to judge character, it is my need to overlook the signals because I have this innate sense within me to help and that often gets me into trouble. I see it right from the start and my intuition tells me to stay away but still I go in and sometimes with eyes wide open and more often than not I get hurt. However, I am observant more than most because I am a writer and therefore I observe religiously and nitpick details and even though I am good at judging character from the get go, I choose not to pay attention and that is my BIG problem.

As to your question of whether I am a good judge of character? The answer is, yes and no.

I’m most happy when….

I’m most happy when I’m out in nature. I’ve always loved nature but the last two or three years have brought home the fact that I find my freedom and peace when I’m out there by myself surrounded by silence and my soul has the opportunity to rise to new heights. Nature teaches that nothing is ever left to chance and there is a time and place for everything. There is no rush because it takes its time and knows that the seasons will unfold as they are meant to unlike “human nature” which demands and expects that it happened yesterday! Nature is my teacher, my guide and it makes me happy even on the days when I think nothing is going to bring me back up. Nature makes me happy and a trek out in the fields does wonders for my soul and my happiness.

My Walk

It was simple, it didn’t cost anything but it brought a world of relaxation and peace into my being. Walks are my way of relaxing but it is more than that. I find a world that doesn’t depend on material goods or validation from the outside world and what society expects from me. It is a world of endless possibilities and where I can let my imagination run wild. Just half an hour of me being out in nature soothes the mind and calms the beast that I call my mind that tends to run wild at times! It is a time for contemplation and a time to be grateful for all that surrounds me and a reminder that if nature can take care of itself then so can I. That’s my idea of fun or the grown-up version of it anyway.

Top Five Grocery Items

I go for all things organic that includes fruits, vegetables, chicken, eggs and sauerkraut. The last item has been touted as a probiotic which means good for your gut health. I don’t eat it everyday but try to have it at least once every other week. Perfect gut health? So far so good so must be doing something right. Fingers crossed!

Describe a man….

This is a hard one. At first glance, I couldn’t think of anyone. My dad was a God-fearing man and a hard working one but there was a lack as far as the emotional side goes. We knew he loved us but we craved more and that was not forthcoming. All the others that came into my life were there to teach me a lesson. Lessons I did not want to learn but had to which brings me to the present where I am trying to find out what makes me tick and what it is that I am really looking for. Once I learn that side of me maybe finding the man who will positively impact my life will be an easy task.

Sad but true.
