I try hard to live stress-free, but it doesn’t always work that way. Stress always finds its way in and it seems like a daily and forceful activity where it is concerned.
How do I manage stress?
I do a lot of breathing exercises. Just ten minutes a day helps to bring the stress levels down. You have to be consistent and it doesn’t have to be fancy. Just in and out, 4 minutes in and 6 minutes out is all it takes to feel balanced again.
Add exercising to that and you are on your way to being stress free, well, it works in my world so I hope it does in yours. Walking is a favorite, 20 minutes a day is good, if you can do more even better. However, start small and add on as you go along. Walking out in nature is an added bonus but since the weather is nasty right now, indoor walking is great too.
Meditating is another great go to. I started out with 10 minutes of just closing my eyes and letting everything go. It was hard because my mind decided that it wasn’t going to sit still and take it! It learned to behave and I am now at 30 minutes a day. Or break it up into manageable bits, 15 minutes in the mornings and 15 minutes before bed.
Strength training is a must. It strengthens your muscles and adds to your workout routines. Here again, start out small, 10 minutes and move on from there.
Lastly, I have Chachi, the cat, to thank for my stress-free living. He makes me laugh, he gives me cuddles, and the hugs, well, those hugs are to die for! Lucky me? Yes, I do thank my lucky stars for the little guy.
That’s how I manage stress. Next question please…..
